The Leominster DekHockey Center (LDHC) is the Original and oldest Street Hockey/Dekhockey Center in North America and opened in 1974 by Raymond LeClerc.

 

The Center is officially recognized as the Home of Street Hockey and home of the U.S. Nationals Tournament since 1975. Teams from all over the United States, Canada and even Europe have played in the IDTA/ASHI Championships during May and June over the years. The IDTA headquarters and staff are also located at the Center as well as the Hall of Fame.

The LDHC is equipped with 3 outdoor rinks and a specially designed surface for dekhockey (MS3 Surface) which  enhances the sport. Two of the rinks are Official size 160’ x 80’ and a smaller rink specially constructed for young players 120’ x 60’. The LDHC has a full service Pro Shop with the best Dekhockey equipment and accessories. The Center has a Snack Bar, Video game area, Meeting Rooms and 8 Locker Rooms for teams.

The LDHC operates year round with 3 major seasons. Players play from age 4 to over 40 in organized leagues, with certified officials and volunteer coaches. The league programs act as a model for several other facilities around the country. Besides Street Hockey Leagues and Tournaments the Center has a full range of activities namely Clinics, 2 Hockey Camps in the summer for Dekhockey and special Goalie Camps run Detriot Red Wing goalie coach Jim Bedard. Special clinics and seminars for Referees and Coaches are held frequently.

The Center prides itself as a clean, well run facility for families and players who want to play hockey. The Center is owned and managed by Chris Housser with dedicated staff members Pauline Cormier, Steve Brousseau, Archie Meza, Kathie Reynolds & Bobby Housser.
